The next flash

Ok, here's the flash movie I've been working on for far too long.  It's about 25% complete.  I'm having huge writers block on some of the ideas to come up with.  You will want me to finish this one.

Damn, anti RIAA Hillary Rosen jokes are so 2002...

Yeah, it's probably weird that I'd bother to post a highly incomplete flash movie instead of pulling some kind of Evil On The Attack hype countdown thingy.

DO NOT SPREAD THIS AROUND OR UPLOAD THIS ANYWHERE.  Don't want to see another Mario Twins fiasco.

Re: The next flash

Dang, that's a long song.  It seems like you have at least ideas in mind for most of the rest of it, judging from the lyrics anyway, so don't feel like you have a heinous amount left to do.  I can't wait to see it!

Re: The next flash

Strangely enough, I actually saw someone else start making a video to this song back in 2002/2003.  Featured lots of colourful flashing arrows in it.

But anyways, it does look pretty good from what was done so far.  What I proabably would have don e though would be to stick the song in some sort of sound editor and shorten the thing.  Or just use the 1:30 opening from the series.

Re: The next flash

That's amazing.  I love the return theme to MOE.  Hahaha, you have got to finish this one.  Just come up with the most absurd thing with the lyrics you made.

Re: The next flash

Yes, it's a very long song.

Love all the cameos and stuff though, add a lot more, be random if you have to (Miko Miko Nurse ended up being great, and you said it was mostly all random). :)

Re: The next flash

I see difficulty in filling the gap that didn't had lyrics, otherwise you got quite a bit to work with in the misinterpreted japanese department.  Would supplying you with some googled imagery help you gain some inspiraton?

Re: The next flash

Heh, evil... you have randomization in this one. Watched the beginning segments once and saw "Black guy named Matty" (with an appropriate pic); watched it again and got "White guy named Matty" with a different picture. Interesting technique - definitely adds more replay value.

[edit] zOMG, random subliminal messages at the Colin Mochrie cameo too.

[edit] ...and at least 2 other random scenes so far (Toilet ate a Nara/Toilet ate another, People only you understand why/B-Ball only you understand why). This should be really interesting when it's done.

Re: The next flash

There is a scripting thing in flash that generates a random number or something, and you can do stuff with that. troubled_windows and chocolate niblet beans use it too.

You should ask dwedit for the details though

Re: The next flash

Funny work as usual, and I must give you additional madd propz for including Dragon Warrior IV references. By the way, have you played DW4: Renaissance yet? I thought you might have because you also post on Woodus' forum.

And yes, randomization in Flash movies is teh 0wnz0r. It encourages repeated viewings, but to be fair to the audience, you should always give equal chances of occurrence. (To this day, I haven't seen Karen Carpenter save the city from being attacked by the province of Saskatchewan. No offense to Bob of course, I watch and watch and always discover something new and different about the movie, but no Karen.)

Re: The next flash

I can guarantee that there will be no mismatched randomness, ie. no barfing at richard nixon.

Re: The next flash

But the mismatched randomness can be funny.  That's why I did it.

Re: The next flash

I watched through the unfinished parts, just to see the lyrics. Upon seeing the line "Kill an E", the first thing that came to mind was the following image:

Re: The next flash

Is that the SLAYERS theme song from the first series?  I've only seen the second series, I don't watch too much anime myself, only what my friends happen to have lying around on DVD.

Basically, the title made me think this, and the voice at the beginning could definitely pass for my recollection of Lina's voice... heh.
