xBox 360, Dreamcast of next gen?

I have yet to play the 360, but I wanted to know what your take on the 360 being out way before the Wii and the PS3.  Compared to the others, the 360 seems outclassed.  Is Microsoft becoming SEGA, or does the 360 hold its own?  I think the fact that Rockstar Games has decided to release GTA4 on both the PS3 and the 360 has saved it somewhat.  What's your take?

Okay, but seriously...
Microsoft obviously rushed the console out too quickly, what with all the overheating problems and such.  They messed up badly by making a "Core Model".  A simultaneous world release was a bad mistake, it led to huge shortages everywhere.  And Japan seems to be the most nationalist/racist country of all time, effectively boycotting Microsoft's consoles.  If you don't get the great Japanese developers, you're screwed.

Looks to me like Microsoft pulled a Sega, they should have waited until they could meet demand before releasing.

Microsoft will survive it though.  If a console maker dies this-gen, Sony is going to be the one, because the only portion of Sony that is doing well is SCEI and I wouldn't guarantee the PS3 very much at this point.

I guess we'll have to wait and see on that one though.

At this point I'm not sure which console I'm going to get: the Wii or the PS3.  The Wii sounds great for its price, but the PS3 just sounds like it gives you a lot more bang for a lot more buck.  If I can get the money I'll probably get the Premium PS3 due to the GTA factor.  I can't get enough GTA.

I'd heard that GTA had gotten out of the exclusivity with Sony.  Did that one turn out to be true?

It did.  GTA4 is being released simultaneosly on PS3 and XBOX 360 in october of 2007
