Dwedit:
Dreamhost is upgrading their version of PHP, and they have given me notice that versions of MediaWiki under 1.9.2 will have problems with the new version. An upgrade needs to be done. Should I move the install of MediaWiki to my own shell account on the server and upgrade it myself or do you want to do it?

I'm on it right now. I'll back up the database, swap wiki folders between old and new, then copy the missing images (colin mochrie sun).
Edit: The backup is taking forever, phpmyadmin won't GZIP it for some reason, so I have to back it up uncompressed. 54MB and counting...

The update script fails. Can't use any of the "Maintainance" scripts since shell access uses PHP 4!
So for the meantime, it's still at the old version.

The ultimate evil: deleteDefaultMessages.php
This baby was in a very slow loop, so I made the first line be return;, now it can actually upgrade the wiki.

Thanks for getting that upgraded Dwedit... I hadn't noticed before that the shell version is php4, eww. Where you using the dreamhost builtin phpmyadmin or your own copy? The dreamhost builtin version compresses using bz2 just fine I know, I guess I never tested gz...

I'm using the dreamhost builtn version, and I only get gzip and zip.
Later I found php5 at /usr/local/php5/bin/php, so that problem is gone.

Hrm, looks like the 'dwedit' database is on a different server from the 'aniport' one... I guess that's why I can get to bz2 and you can't. Bleh.
I can move it to a new server for you if you want, but that could very well be more trouble than it's worth. Also, Dreamhost takes a daily snapshot of the database anyway... it keeps daily snapshots for 1 week back and then monthly snapshots back to 6 months looks like.
