Personally, I hate all ytmd's with a passion.

The Picard song is good.  But why do you hate them?

Re: I made a YTMND

A long time ago, I came upon a site called "itsatrap.net".  It consisted of 64+ layers of text saying "It's a trap", a titled background image of Admiral Ackbar, and a looping .wav file shouting out "It's a trap".  I was mildly amused.  This was at least a year before I ever heard of ytmnd.  All ytmnd sites are identical carbon copies of each other, and all have the hundreds of layers of text, tiled background image, and background wav file.  They all identical to itsatrap.net.
The real reason I hate ytmnd is their obscenely high page rank on google.  High page rank, and no content on any site.
Last, Firefox doesn't correctly play the background sound unless you configure Quicktime to handle the sound files, then it prevents you from downloading sound files and instead shows a quicktime window.  It's odd that embedding an mp3 inside a .swf file is a much more cross platform way to play sound on a web page than embedding the mp3 file itself.

Re: I made a YTMND

Somehow I got it to work on firefox for me.  I'm not sure how.

I've not exactly been internet savvy for very long, so I can't really defend my side of the argument very well.  So I'll just leave it be.....

Re: I made a YTMND

I've seen a few YTMNDs, and most are total crap. My favorites are the ones that re-interpret foreign-language songs with misheard lyrics, much like what we see in animutations. A few links made the rounds of the Animutation Mailing List a while ago, including amusing reworkings of the Swedish "Gummi Bears" theme and the Finnish "Duck Tales" theme.

In other news, I must be the only person who not only doesn't use Firefox, but has no intention to switch.

Re: I made a YTMND

I found that to be annoying, but I don't think there is a such thing as a YTMND that is not annoying.
