Finally! After two years of work, Bryan Thomas released his Basic platform game, Contra 83. Contra 83 is a remake of the original NES contra, and is programmed entirely in TI-BASIC (no asm subroutines or programs). It's available for download at www.olsoft.tk.
You might think that it's really slow, because it's basic. But you're wrong! Even on my non-overclocked 6 Mhz TI 83+ Black Edition, it runs smooth. The graphics are okay, but your character sprite is only 5x3 pixels, to keep the game fast. There are 6 levels, but i only made it to level 2, on difficulty level easy. It really is a tough game!

I never liked Contra, it was too hard for me.

"I've been playing a lot of Final Fantasy Tactics lately, trying to master all the jobs for my human characters, and it's even been showing up in my dreams. Last night I had a dream I was watching one of those stand-up shows on TV, and a comedian was doing a bit about, you guessed it, the battle on the roof of Riovanes Castle..." -Indo Tenbuki
