Should Goomba be saving the display settings made?

Hi,

First, thanks so much for Goomba Color! Its a fantastic tool and working really well on my Everdrive GBA X5.

Although I'm finding that when I start a game again, all the settings are reset, such as "Grayscale" colour scheme, or any other menu options. Is that to be expected?
I can load the save state without issue, but this doesnt seem to remember the settings either, so whilst it loads, the default colour palette is used.
