Import .sav file from Gameyob to Goomba Color on Everdrive GBA X5

Hey everyone.  I've spent the last few hours trying to import my Link's Awakening .sav file into Goomba Color on the Everdrive GBA X5 and I'm failing every time.  I've tried using Goomba Save Manager, renaming the .sav to .srm and whatever else I could find online and nothing seems to work.  Is there a way to do this?  I'm dying here.  Thanks in advance!

You need to use VisualBoyAdvance to get real Game Boy SRAM save files in and out of Goomba Color.

* Run VisualBoyAdvance, load your Goomba ROM, select the game in Goomba Color.
* Press L+R to enter Goomba Color's menu
* Within VisualBoyAdvance, Tools > Memory Viewer
Importing a standard Game Boy battery save file:
* Click the Load... button
* Type in * as your filename and hit enter to allow seeing all files
* Pick the SAV file.  It will usually be 8192 or 32768 bytes large.
* Enter 02038000 into the address
* OK
Exporting a standard Game Boy battery save file:
* Click the Save... button
* Enter 02038000 into the address, and 8000 for the size
* Name your save file with quotes around it, so it won't add a ".dmp" extension.

Re: Import .sav file from Gameyob to Goomba Color on Everdrive GBA X5

Hello Dwedit, I have been following this guide all afternoon without success, I have extracted a save file for GameBoyColor game which is 8.00KB, its initial name was sav.dat, I can rename it to savegame.sav and works almost everywhere but still not able to make it into a workable 32KB file for the everdrive GBA X5, I have followed this guide using both VBA versions 1.8.0 beta3 and m-2.1.4 but whenever I load the goomba.gba file it doesnt let me load GBC game, just gets frozen on the black screen, tried using goomba front and convert the GBC game into a GBA, still did the whole procedure but still not able to get a working file to be injected on the GBA X5, appreciate any guidance/help, regards.

Re: Import .sav file from Gameyob to Goomba Color on Everdrive GBA X5

I had to use the following tool goombasav by libertyernie

Used Goomba Front to create a GBA game out of the GBC game.
Generated a new save file for the GBA game which was 32KB.
Named new empty saved file GBA.sav
Named GBC save file GBC.sav which is 8KB.

Used tool above to inject GBC save file into GBA save file, ended up being 64KB but after opening it with the VBA changed back to 32KB with my 8KB save file data.
