Love Hina

Love Hina is an anime about a guy, Keitaro, that is the kanrinin (manager) of a girls dorm. The whole series is about how he gets kicked into the sky by the girls from the dorm.

Isn't it cool to have an Anime forum?!
The Manga is WAY better than the Anime, the story is deeper and it has even more ecchiness!!

Keitaro reminds me a bit of spiderman, with his limited flight ability.

Re: Love Hina

it wasn't a good anime. Just look at the drawings. The authors were so lazy they just have the same picture for 30 seconds with just the mouths moving all the time.

It was just stupid merchandise of a REALLY good gameboy RPG.

Re: Love Hina

I liked the pokemon anime too when it first came out.  And I was never really into the games.  I just found that the show got way too overblown/overmarketted and way too repitive, and I often felt the urge to kill ash and Pikachu.  Also when Brock was replaced with Tracy was proabably the first thing that killed it for me.  Also they never went to much into character development either.

Love Hina's good stuff, though.

Re: Love Hina

I was a fan (yes, a *fan*) of the Pokemon anime as well, when it first came out. I was amazed at the amount of creativity that went into each of the Pokemon, and how something so Eastern in nature (one of Shintoism's major beliefs is that every aspect of nature has a soul) could become so insanely successful in the West. Of course, when the first movie (with the fairly unoriginal title of "Pokemon: The First Movie") came out, I finally took the overly infantile nature of the anime for what it was. Still, that Vitamin C song "Pokemon Vacation" is pretty cool, though.

I always loved the Poke Rap.  The only rap that I didn't find too overly ofensive.

Re: Love Hina

One thing i noticed was that, how more pokemon they made, how more unoriginal they became. The first 151 (hyakugojyuuichi!) pokémon were cool, and you could see that the authors put some good work in it (even though almost every name was a bad pun). But when they created another 100 in pokemon gold and silver, they became lamer. And now there even more lame, with the release of pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Maybe it's just because i played pokemon blue way more than gold or ruby.

I think the gold, silver & Crystal were the best! More options and a lot of things to discover!

Kinda off topic though

Re: Love Hina

Blue, Red, and Yellow were the best.  They best kept the feeling the creator meant for the show, though yellow seemed to follow the anime more than the game.

Re: Love Hina

There was also pokemon green (the one with venusaur on the package). It never really caught on, cuz it was just pokemon blue, but €10 more expensive, and released later.

Re: Love Hina

The games predated the anime, did you know? The reason why Pikachu was chosen as Ash (Satoshi)'s starting Pokemon on the anime was so people who chose Charmander (Hitokage), Squirtle (Zenigame), or Bulbasaur (Fushigidane) in the games would not be offended when the anime Ash chose another Pokemon.

Yeah I knew that.  But what about the manga?  Did that predate the games?

Re: Love Hina

I believe the games came first. Not sure if the manga predated the anime, as is usually the case with anime.

Re: Love Hina

Well I remember in either the opening or ending credits it said something like based on a story by so-and-so, so I'm not really sure.  I bet if one looks hard enough they can find some info on Poekmon's history, baring in mind that most pokemon sites haven't disappeared off hte face of the planet now...

Re: Love Hina

Satoshi Tajiri came up with the original story and characters for Pokemon (Ash and Gary are named Satoshi and Shigeru in all Japanese versions, after Messrs. Tajiri and Miyamoto), but I don't know if he wrote the manga or the Gameboy games' scenarios, or both.

Eh, are we talking about Love Hina (i.e. the name of the thread) or Pokemon?
