PocketNES menu - how to disable preview?

Hello,
Is there any way to disable game preview in the menu and have just a blank background in the chosen colour?
If I choose to have a splashscreen will it turn off the preview?
How to make a splashscreen?

Is it possible to change the cursor from asterisk to an arrow?
How to change font colour in the menu?

Wanting to customize the selection screen this much suggests you would have loved Pogoshell.  But that program is only really compatible with a few specific flash cartridges.

If you really want to do this stuff, the source code is open, and it's possible to change these things.  Editing the Font to add the arrow might be a bit tricky though.

I'd rather just make a standard rom file, just without the preview of the game the cursor is on.
How to make that splashscreen .raw file? In Photoshop?
