I've heard some talk about flash carts and compatibility (or lack of) with the new Nintendo DS. I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about that. I'd like to get a flash cart so I can use pocketsnes/nes. Oh and also does anyone have any suggestions for flash carts? I was trying to decide which one to get, and I've heard stories of how people's carts just run out of batteries and they have to open them and it's just a pain. So ya any help on either of these two subjects would be a great help.

The nintendo DS has no linkport, so you will need either a GBA, a flashcart that uses a separate linker, or the extreme flash advance, which has a direct usb connection between the cart and the pc.
Almost all flashcarts should work fine. F2A works perfectly.

By the way, do you have a DS? If so, can you give us some more specs. about it?
Does it have an internal memory bank or something like that?

It saves data onto the game cards, they have a small amount of EEPROM on them for holding save games.
Mario 64 DS has terrible control, but the graphics and sound are N64 perfect, if not better. The coins are actually 3D models now, not 2D sprites.

Hi DWedit, I was wondering if there was any way to program the PocketNES to play all NES games, even those over 512k. Obviously what I'm looking for is to play certain games on the GBA Movie player through my NINTENDO DS! Since the DS obviously doesn't have a problem with RAM, is there any way to make a seperate compile of PocketNES for the GBA movie player that works for the DS owners? I'm REALLY REALLY wanting to play mah old Megaman games. :) Thanks!
BTW, your PocketNES-Compy is awesome, excellent work!
